Getting on the Fast Track to a Career in Biotech

Interested in working at the nexus of data science, computer programming, and human health research? Looking to build your skills and expertise in these areas, while studying at the heart of one of the nation’s fastest growing biotech corridors?

A bachelor’s degree in biocomputational engineering is the perfect way to launch your career! Through the University of Maryland’s B.S. in Biocomputational Engineering degree program, you’ll develop unique skills that combine your love for the life sciences, math, and coding. Our courses are taught by experts in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, bioengineering, and others. Even more, our program places you at the heart of the action in these areas. In 2022, Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News ranked our region among the top 5 biopharma clusters in the U.S. Last year, the University of Maryland ranked 20th in the world and 10th among U.S. public institutions for patents awarded. And, in 2021, Biospace ranked our region among the best in the U.S. for biotech jobs!

Be a part of it all and get on the fast track to your degree by attending a virtual information session on Monday, November 7th, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET with UMD Biocomputational Engineering Program Coordinator Emily Bailey. You’ll have the opportunity to chat with Emily and get answers to  any specific questions you may have about the application process, courseload, and more. You’ll also learn everything you need to know about career pathways in biocomputational engineering, including updates on our students’ most recent biotech internships.

Do you prefer to meet us in-person – and take a tour of our state-of-the-art Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Education facility at the Universities at Shady Grove campus? We would love to offer you a glimpse at life as a biocomputational engineering student! RSVP today to attend our in-person information session being held on Wednesday, November 16th, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.  During this session, Emily will walk you through the degree program, outline potential career pathways, and break down the application process.
